Bro. Ben E. Williams Jr....

Williams, Ben Ben E. Williams Jr. 85 passed away April 3, 2016 to be with the Lord. Ben was born on August 31, 1930 in Jacksonville, Florida, to Benjamin E. Williams & Kathleen Blake Williams (deceased), survived by his wife of 64 years Ann (Nelson) Williams, his daughter Lee Ann, son Dan (Vicki), Grand Children & Great Grand Children David (Erin Robson) Williams-Minner, Cayden & Ashton Williams-Minner, Jessica P (Williams) Adair (Cary Adair), Dani Marie Adair, Jami Lee (Williams) Dugan (Shannon Dugan) Benjamin & Bradlee Dugan. Ben a dynamic force, started in the electrical trade business in Jacksonville with his father working out of the IBEW local #177. He then moved on to Raybro Electric Supplies, starting in the warehouse, working his way to outside sales. In 1962, he went to work for GESCO and we moved to Tampa. Things went really well in 1963 as he was ranked in the top twenty in the nation with GESCO 500 club, in 1965 he received a promotion to district manager and we moved to Orlando. Ben was responsible for a large amount of business at the Space Center, as well as numerous projects across the Central Florida region, from Tampa to Cocoa. Hall-Mark Electrical Sales was based out of New York and Ben was accountable for all five of their locations throughout the State of Florida. Hall-Mark sold to CED in 1971, which is when Ben decided it was time to start his own business. Alpha Electric Supply, Inc., was his first venture in 1971. With the help of his family and friends in the industry, the business quickly grew to 17 locations throughout Florida. Today his business and legacy continues as Aldan Electric Supply located in Orlando and Eustis. Ben always put family and God first throughout his life and his career. There is no doubt that his legacy will carry on throughout the Electrical Industry. He made an impact on all those he came in contact with both professional and personally. He would give the shirt off his back and the shoes from his feet to help you. He never asked or wanted "things" for himself. He set high standards and was the best example for those of us who desired to follow in his footsteps. A true gentleman, drove a hard bargain but always fair, had a heart for a good joke, provided a helping hand, a sounding board to bounce ideas off of but most importantly he always took time to listen, "The Lord gave you two ears and one mouth for that reason, he said, you should listen twice as much as you talk." As a true football fan he always enjoyed a good Gators win. However, if the Gators fell short of a win those folks knew just how to rub it in with an appearance at his office first thing Monday morning dressed in their teams colors. It was always an entertaining conversation! Member of Edge Memorial United Methodist Church, Free & Accepted Masons Lodge #190- Master Mason, Jamestown Society. A visitation and service will be held at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 301 NE Ivanhoe Blvd, Orlando FL 32804, on Thursday April 7th, 2016. The visitation begins at 1:00pm, and the service begins at 2:00pm. Committal service to follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Groveland, FL.
